Who needs it
Foreign juristic persons under the Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 that will carry on businesses listed in its schedules — especially List 3, which includes many services — need prior permission.
Lists 1, 2 and 3
List 1 is prohibited for foreigners, List 2 needs Cabinet approval, and List 3 is licensed by the DBD Director-General with committee advice.
Alternatives to check first
Some cases use a certificate instead, such as BOI promotion, an industrial estate permit or the Thai-U.S. Treaty of Amity.
