How language choice affects the certification route
The receiving authority determines the translation language and document authentication requirements. As of September 2026 Thailand does not yet issue Apostilles, even for a Thai document destined for a Convention member state; the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. We confirm the current consular and embassy route before quoting.
For inbound work, the foreign document is authenticated in its country of origin first, then translated into Thai and certified for use with Thai authorities. Attempting the translation before the origin-country authentication usually forces the file to be redone, because the authentication is applied to the source document, not to the translation.
