Documents to prepare

• Original document plus one clear copy of every page
• Copy of the passport or Thai national ID card of the signatory
• Written statement of the purpose and the receiving authority
• Supporting records the receiving authority lists in its own checklist
• Power of attorney if the signatory cannot attend in person
• Contact details for follow-up questions from the receiving authority

Process steps

1. Step 1. State the purpose and the receiving authority so the correct level of certification is chosen.
2. Step 2. Send scans of every page so completeness can be checked before work starts.
3. Step 3. Prepare the translation or the instrument in the format the receiving authority requires.
4. Step 4. Sign or certify before the officer authorised by law to witness that document type.
5. Step 5. Collect the finished set and keep a copy for the next filing.

What gets files rejected

• Certified copies from the Ministry are issued on request and have their own lead time.
• Case references must be quoted exactly as printed.
• Spell every name exactly as it appears in the passport, across every document in the same bundle.
• Never remove staples or separate pages that an authority has bound and stamped across the seam.
