NAATI CCL scoring

2 dialogues (English→Thai and Thai→English) — 45 marks each, 90 total
Pass: at least 63/90 overall and 29/45 per dialogue (check NAATI for current criteria)
Topics: random from 10 domains
No note-taking: listen chunk-by-chunk, translate immediately

What the CCL counts for in Australian visas

The Department of Home Affairs awards points for a credentialed community language in certain points-tested visas, and a NAATI CCL pass can support that claim. Check that your visa counts these points before booking.

Test format

The test has two dialogues between an English speaker and a Thai speaker, interpreted segment by segment in both directions. Assessment looks at accuracy, omissions and natural language—it is not document translation.

Preparing with our team

We assess your language level, then practise topic-based community dialogues such as health, education and legal settings, flagging omissions and additions. Coaching does not guarantee a result; NAATI alone assesses the test.
