NAATI partner visa document set | Civil status and shared-life evidence
Marriage registration and evidence of a shared life serve different purposes. Translate actual records without manufacturing a relationship narrative or claiming one set covers every partner visa requirement.

Separate registered civil status from relationship facts
Identify the actual application, relationship category, recipient and current requests. Distinguish marriage certificates, register extracts, divorce documents and name history. A marriage record does not replace every other form of evidence.
Applicants inside and outside Australia may use different pathways. Do not select evidence solely from subclass numbers in a service name. Translation does not determine relationship status or sponsor eligibility.
Organise financial, household, social and commitment evidence
Home Affairs discusses different aspects of a relationship. Apply guidance to the couple’s actual circumstances, not a universal demand for joint accounts, leases and chats.
Joint and individual statements differ. Household registration does not prove continuous cohabitation, and messages or photographs do not establish every aspect alone. Preserve each record’s limits.
Preserve chronology and disclose name or date discrepancies
Check partners’ names and dates of marriage, divorce, address changes and record periods. Explain relevant differences with evidence rather than silently aligning conflicting source details.
A personal statement remains the author’s account, not a fact certified by the translator. Do not create past events or add relationships absent from the source.
Make excerpting and practitioner credentials transparent
For extensive chats or records, agree selections with the recipient. Identify periods and untranslated portions; samples must not be described as the complete history. Keep translator notes separate.
Where NAATI is requested, check the actual practitioner’s CPN, certification and language direction. CCL is not professional translator certification. Do not rely on invented case counts or undocumented reviewers.
Commission language work separately from visa preparation
Provide an inventory, latest versions, recipients and languages. Migration advice, lodgement, copy certification and declarations require separate agreement; a translation set does not include them automatically.

Questions before commissioning
Does a marriage certificate replace other evidence?
Not necessarily. Check the actual application. Civil status and evidence of the relationship serve different purposes.
Must every couple provide joint accounts and chats?
Do not impose one list on every couple. Apply current guidance to actual circumstances without manufacturing evidence.
Does this translation set guarantee approval?
No. The recipient evaluates the entire application. Translation conveys only the commissioned records.
