NAATI skilled migration translations | Skills assessment versus EOI
Skilled migration translation requirements depend on the occupation, assessing authority and current stage. Translating qualifications is not a positive assessment, points calculation or invitation.

Identify the occupation and competent assessor first
Supply the relevant authority’s current list for the actual pathway, whether VETASSESS, ACS or Engineers Australia. One bundle cannot replace their different requirements.
Identify whether the work supports assessment, EOI, nomination or a visa application. Evidence can differ by stage. This listing does not confirm an eligible occupation or qualification.
Distinguish employment duties from payment evidence
Check employer references, dates, duties, hours and signatories exactly as issued. Contracts, payslips and tax records establish different matters. Do not insert duties to fit an occupation code.
Obtain missing evidence from issuers if requested. Do not manufacture retrospective references or make translations assert experience absent from the source.
Keep award names and chronology without self-assessed equivalence
Provide awards, transcripts and relevant name-history evidence. Check attendance, completion and institution names. Do not upgrade a certificate to a degree or rework grades to suggest equivalence.
The authority evaluates qualifications and recognisable experience. Translation does not calculate migration points or confirm qualifying years.
Check CPN without confusing translated evidence with invitations
Where required, verify the actual practitioner’s CPN, certification and language direction. CCL has its own assessment purpose; it is not professional translator certification.
A SkillSelect EOI is not a visa application and does not guarantee an invitation. State nomination and skills assessment are separate. Consult current guidance rather than inferring eligibility from a package name.
Control document versions and separately commissioned tasks
Specify records, recipients, languages and pages. Separate dependant evidence from professional evidence rather than assuming police or marriage records belong in every assessment.

Questions before commissioning
Is one bundle sufficient for ACS and VETASSESS?
Check the actual assessor and occupation. A translation-set name cannot replace different evidence requirements.
Does a translated reference secure experience points?
No. It conveys the issuer’s record. The relevant authority evaluates experience and points.
Is submitting an EOI a visa application?
No. SkillSelect EOI is separate from visa lodgement and does not guarantee an invitation.
