How many certification layers does my document need?

It depends on the destination. Apostille Convention countries finish at the Department of Consular Affairs with the Apostille attached. Non-convention countries add an endorsement at that country's embassy in Thailand. Australia and New Zealand mainly rely on a NAATI-certified translation instead.

What is required for a foreign document used inside Thailand?

It must first be certified in the country of origin, by Apostille or that country's foreign ministry. It is then translated into Thai by a translator the receiving Thai agency accepts, and the translation is legalized at the Department of Consular Affairs before submission.

Is the result reliable enough to file with?

The steps shown are process statements verifiable against the responsible agency's rules. Individual embassies and receiving authorities still add their own detail requirements, so send the scans for review before the work starts.

Why was a bundle rejected that had been accepted before?
